Camp WaterColor Beach Club
Family vacations at the unique WaterColor community are a real holiday for everyone. One of the greatest perks for parents is Camp WaterColor , the resort's comprehensive children's program. Designed for children aged five to 12, the program offers a variety of experiences both on and off the beach. So while mom and dad enjoy a massage or soaking in the sun on a beach of sugar white sand, the kids are experiencing their own adventures in a fun place they can call their own and with others their own age.
Camp WaterColor 's new facility features a distinctive "summer camp" feel with entrance columns made from cypress trees. Camp WaterColor 's "social pool," has a shallow wading area and a water play area with pulsing water geysers. A playground that blends into the nearby trees, allowing Camp WaterColor participants to play that staple of kid-dom, "fort," while pretending to be pirates, cowboys, astronauts, and host of other characters, limited only by their imaginations. There's craft and game room, a stage with a backlit projection system for movies and presentations, a large set of doors that open out to a new amphitheater, and a stage for concerts, plays and other productions. An additional open space, a lawn the size of a soccer field, offers even more open-air recreation opportunities, from Frisbee tossing to stargazing. Activities range from silly to serious, including scavenger hunts, nature walks, sailing, swimming, tennis, snorkeling, scuba diving, canoeing, kayaking, boogie boarding, arts & crafts and games & playing. The program also boasts WaterColor Adventures, where children young and old can learn skills they'll take with them throughout their lives, such as learning culinary arts with WaterColor Executive Chef Jason Brumm; planting vegetables or hiking with the Head Gardener. Kids can take a walk on the wild side by participating in an exciting safari boat ride on the 220-acre Western Lake . For a more relaxed afternoon, kids may enjoy the watercolor and pottery workshops at local art studios.
And finally, Camp WaterColor gives harried parents a chance to rekindle the romance and slip away to an intimate dinner (without crayons or paper napkins) thanks to "Kids' Night Out." Available several nights a week for children ages four to 12, Kids' Night Out features evening programs such as create your-own pottery followed by a pizza party and hot dog and marshmallow roasts on the beach. Camp WaterColor is in operation year-round as a service for guests.
