Grayton Beach State Park offers year-round outdoor recreation on Northwest Florida's Gulf Coast. Highlights of Grayton Beach State Park include a sand beach, coastal forests, a nature trail, campgrounds, fishing, swimming, boating, birdwatching, picnicking, hiking and biking.
 
 

Grayton Beach State Park

Grayton Beach State Park is among the priceless natural treasures of Florida’s Emerald Coast. The Grayton Beach State Park beach is considered one of the loveliest beaches in the U.S., and its coastal forests are filled with scrub oaks and magnolias sculpted by Gulf winds.

Visitors to Grayton Beach State Park may enjoy a variety of outdoor pursuits, such as canoeing, kayaking and boating on the 100-acre Western Lake. Other recreational activities at Grayton Beach State Park include swimming, freshwater and saltwater fishing, birding, wildlife watching, and hiking and biking along a four-mile nature trail. Among the wildlife that may be spotted at Grayton Beach State Park are shorebirds and nesting sea turtles.

The 2,228-acre Grayton Beach State Park also offers RV and tent camping as well as 30 cabins that can accommodate up to six people. Other amenities at Grayton Beach State Park include a boat ramp, a picnic pavilion, public showers and Ranger-led interpretive programs.

Pets are banned from the beach. However, they are permitted within certain areas of Grayton Beach State Park, provided they remain on leashes no longer than six feet.

Grayton Beach State Park opened in 1968. It is one of four Walton County stops on the Great Florida Birding Trail.
