A temperate year-round climate, pristine environment and a host of activities, accommodations and facilities make Beaches of South Walton, located in the heart of Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast, the ideal meetings and conventions destination.

South Walton's 14 beach communities offer a diverse and eclectic experience for visitors, catering to group from 7-1,700. Famous for its beaches and exciting blend of activities, festivals and events, shopping, arts and culture, restaurants and nightlife, the region has evolved into a meetings hot spot.

Large groups gravitate to the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, Seascape Resort and Conference Center as well as Embassy Suites at Miramar Beach. Each offers a range of meeting spaces and accommodations, as well as amenities and facilities for attendees and their families to enjoy during free time.

Smaller groups up to 300 retreat to communities such as Rosemary Beach, Seaside and WaterColor which offer traditional Southern hospitality and a sanctuary from fast-paced lifestyles—ideal for incentive retreats, small board meetings and team building. TOPS'L Beach & Racquet Resort adjacent to the Topsail Hill State Preserve, is another attractive option for smaller groups.

The good news for meeting planners is that Beaches of South Walton's world-class accommodations have become even more varied and plentiful.

Large Group Spaces
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers 1,700 accommodation options throughout its 2,400-acre property, including fully furnished condos, villas and town homes; more than 200 luxury accommodations in The Village of Baytowne Wharf; the 175-room Bayside Sandestin Inn with 16 suites; and the elegant, 168-unit Grand Sandestin.

The resort serves groups from 7 to 1,700 in 65,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. The newly opened 32,000 square feet Baytowne Conference Center houses two ballrooms, including the 13,500 square foot Magnolia Ballroom, the largest in Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast.

With nearly 7,000 square feet of usable space, Embassy Suites at Miramar Beach accommodates meetings from 10 to 600 people. Meeting rooms feature high-speed Internet connections, drop-down screens, audio system for A/V presentations, connections for live videoconferencing, and a built-in service bar. The property has 155 two-room suites and offers guests a complimentary free, cooked-to-order breakfast.

The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is situated on the 2,400-acre Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort complex. The contemporary high-rise hotel has 600 rooms, including suites, and features 32,000 square feet of outdoor and indoor meeting space with state-of-the art technology to accommodate groups up to 1,000. The hotel also features a 10,000 square foot ballroom.  

Seascape Resort and Conference Center includes a range of accommodation options, such as villas, townhomes, and the beachfront Majestic Sun high-rise. The 5,000 square foot Seascape Resort and Conference Center accommodates groups (up to 400) of all sizes and addresses all technology needs, including connections for videoconferencing, soundproof partitioning, overhead track lighting and screens, and 220 outlets.

Small Group Spaces
In the New Urbanism tradition, Rosemary Beach is composed of an interconnected network of pedestrian lanes, footpaths and blocks that leads to the town square. Guests may choose from studio or one-bedroom carriage houses to luxury cottages housing multiple bedrooms. The 3,800 square foot Town Hall features one large room and six breakout rooms and addresses all technology requirements. It is surrounded by a courtyard for outdoor receptions.

The cottages of Seaside are perfectly suited for corporate gatherings in a luxury resort home setting. Seaside offers 400 individual accommodations including 275 private homes available for rent. Lodging options range from one-bedroom cottages to large group compounds, luxury townhouses, penthouses and beachfront hideaways.

Seaside is a perfect location for incentive retreats, working getaways, team building conferences and corporate meetings up to 200. Known for its unconventional meeting environment, business groups convene in a state-of-the-art meeting room or beachside.

WaterColor is a 499-acre resort and residential community, the centerpiece of which is the 60-room WaterColor Inn. Ideal for small incentive groups or gatherings of less than 200, the Inn is a playful salute to a beach house. Facilities include 4,000 square feet of executive meeting space that extends outdoors for al fresco functions and a 450-person outdoor amphitheater overlooking Western Lake.

From gulf side to courtside, TOPS'L Beach & Racquet Resort has accommodations to please every taste from penthouses to beachside condos. The resort has three dedicated meeting rooms totaling 3,000 square feet and class-room seating up to 300. A/V equipment, Internet access and other technology amenities are available.

Two Marriott-branded hotels are situated at the entrance to the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and guests can enjoy the amenities of the Resort. The Residence Inn Sandestin and Courtyard Sandestin, both at Grand Boulevard, will add more than 300 rooms to the resort’s room inventory.  The Courtyard Sandestin at Grand Boulevard will feature 174 spacious, well-appointed guest rooms and more than 2,000 square feet of meeting space perfect for groups up to 75, and the Residence Inn Sandestin at Grand Boulevard will include 120 spacious guest rooms with the comforts and conveniences of home including separate living and sleeping areas and a kitchenette. Both properties are a part of Grand Boulevard, an upscale specialty lifestyle center, which is under development.

Whether exploring natural habitats or factory store outlets, playing tennis or deep-sea fishing, gallery hopping or wine tasting, families are entertained while meeting goers are inspired by their relaxed surroundings.
 
For networking outside the boardroom, the destination's highly acclaimed golf courses offer 207 challenging holes on professionally designed, award-winning well-manicured greens.

The Beaches of South Walton Tourist Development Council (TDC) will assist meeting planners in selecting the ideal venue. The certified TDC staff specializes in meeting group needs from recommending and reserving area restaurants to creative ideas on attendance building. Beaches of South Walton is a convenient driving destination from southeastern cities including Birmingham, Memphis, New Orleans, and Atlanta, which adds to the destination's popularity. For air travelers, service is available direct to Northwest Florida via the Fort Walton Beach, Panama City or Pensacola airports.
