Muscogee Nation of Florida

More than 150 years ago Native Americans began their trek south following the rivers from Alabama to Florida. This migration into the new lands led to the re-establishment of traditional grounds, communities, lifestyles and government. Today, the Muscogee Nation is 1,100 members strong living in small townships across North Florida’s interior. For generations, the Muscogee people have fought to preserve their language, culture, songs, stories and ways of life. They remain today as a people of one fire.

The ultimate goal for the people of the Muscogee Nation has been to seek ways that bring comprehensive social and economic development programs into townships. They believe that the future lies in the foundations they provide for younger generations to build on. As a sovereign nation, the Muscogee Nation of Florida continues to provide leadership in promoting community and social development, education, economic development and most importantly self government. Through these programs and goals, the Muscogee Nation of Florida will remain a strong people, continuing the preservation of a people of one fire.
