Beach Wedding General Questions

• Is a permit required for a beach wedding? Yes, for all party sizes.  So, as the exciting day approaches remember to have a permit for the big event!
• Is there a fee? If your party exceeds 50 people there is a $50 fee, but it will be worth the amazing beauty and unforgettable memories made on your special day.  For your own safety, parties over 100 must contact the Walton County Sheriff’s Office for security per the county ordinance, Lt. Eddie Farris @ 266-2000.
• Where can I obtain a permit?  Click on the link www.co.walton.fl.us and follow these easy steps:
         1. Go to “Division” at the top of the page
         2. Follow “Planning & Development” to Beach Activities
         3. Click on “Wedding” on the Beach-Special Activity/Event Permit
  
• What is the best location for a wedding?  The Beaches of South Walton offer a beautiful variety of ideal locations for a wedding.  We definitely recommend one of the six regional beach accesses which offer more parking space and  public restroom facilities: Inlet Beach Access, Santa Clara Access, Gulfview Heights Access, Ed Walline Access, Dune Allen Access, and Miramar Beach Access.
• Are pets allowed to be included in the wedding party?  Of Course! But first you need a variance issued through the Beach Activities coordinators Office.  Your pets can be included for the length of the ceremony only.
• Who do I call about a wedding license? The quickest and easiest person to contact is the Clerk of the Court, who will be more than happy to assist you with finding a wedding license.
• What do we do about using a public beach access? Can we block off the access or decorate the public beach access?  Unfortunately, in order for others to enjoy the beach too, you are not allowed to block the public beach access or decorate the access.
• Can we throw flower petals instead on rice or birdseed on the beach? In order to preserve the beauty of the beaches you are allowed to throw “real” flower petals on the beach.
